Hello and welcome to my column!
My name is Veronica. I am a writer, actress and healer. So that's pretty much what you can expect me to be talking about. I have been writing since before I could remember. I fell into acting completely accidentally when I was ten. I have been a naturopathic healer for the past seven years.
In my column, I'll be reviewing books, local theater and discussing alternative medicine. I love documentaries, specifically ones on science, religion and food so a review of a documentary might pop up here or there if I’m inspired.
Anything about space, how the universe works or how our own brains and bodies operate blows my mind. No, I’m not religious. I was raised in a Christian home and went to private school only to become an atheist. Now, I consider myself “spiritual” with atheist tendencies. Feel free to interpret that as you will. As far as food goes, well, the things we consider food today pretty much freak me
out. I’m not a vegan or even vegetarian (I just can’t believe that it’s wrong to eat animals) but I’m very conscious of what I put into my body. Organic, unprocessed food is a must! Of course, I cheat every now and then like most people but I try my best.
I'm also a huge nerd. So expect a lot of nerdy references especially about things falling under the fantasy genre like Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones (I’m completely obsessed. It gets scary.), Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, Stephen King’s Dark Tower series to name a few. I even own a Dark Tower t-shirt. That’s how cool I am.
I perform in local storefront theaters in the Orange County area. I’m also a local playwright. The last
thing I did was a collaboration piece I created with six other incredible women called “The Muses.” Think “The Vagina Monologues” without the vagina. We got a chance to share very beautiful, heartfelt, real experiences we have had as women. I'm currently working on another project that I'm very excited about but that will have to remain secret for now.
I mentioned being a healer before, to elaborate I'm a massage therapist and energy healer. I also teach and practice a Japanese healing technique called Reiki while studying Shamanism. I teach all types of classes in Metaphysics including Meditation and Exploring Past Lives. On top of my endless extracurricular activities, this is really just the tip of the iceberg, I also have an
incredible little five year old named Achilles who is intelligent, hilarious, loving and exhausting!
My life never stops - I'm constantly looking for something new to explore, something else to learn, another way to create, another way to expand this already glorious existence and I’m looking forward to taking you along for the ride!
